Chocolate self-saucing sponge pudding and this Apple Crumble were the smells in our family kitchen most Sundays, when my mum would make dessert to follow the roast we had just eaten. With hardly any room left in our stomachs we all cleaned our plates of dessert and retired to watch our black and white TV. I urge you to make this, serve it with your favourite ice cream and make sure your sons and daughters know how to make this too....

INGREDIENTS APPLE BASE:
- 500 grams pink lady apples ( or your favourite)
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp cinnamon

- 1/2 cup of rolled oats processed
- 1/2 cup of plain flour
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 65 grams butter
- Pinch of salt if using unsalted butter
