- 3 and 1/3 cups high grade flour
- 1/4 cup raw sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 sachet instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 6 cloves fresh garlic chopped finely
- 1 tbsp dried basil
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1) Make sure your room environment is not less than 14C or higher than 28C
- 2) Check the expiry date of your yeast and milk
- 3) Protein percentage in your flour should be 12% or higher
- 4) Be prepared to knead your bread for 15 minutes all up, if you are not using mixer with a dough hook or a bread maker.
- 5) Always use fresh free range eggs
- 6) Make sure your dry yeast is not in contact directly with salt. Mix your salt through the flour first.
- 7) Always make sure you give the dough enough time to double in size before baking.
To get more height on the dinner rolls, especially if it is a cold day , leave your bread to proof in a warmer area of the house.
