Hamburger Buns Country Recipe
We often forget about the hamburger bun when we are making hamburgers at home. Well, when you taste these buns, you be happy you used this hamburger buns country recipe. These buns are soft and toast up nicely on the grill for that perfect hamburger. Remember, the buns and the burger can all be homemade. Come on, let's start baking.......
200mls warm water
175 mls low fat warm milk
2 tbsp caster sugar
2 tsp active yeast granules
4 1/2 cups of high grade flour (11% or higher protein)
1 tsp pink salt
75 grams of cooled melted butter
Butter for glaze
Sesame seeds to sprinkle on top of buns
When ever you are baking make sure to add your yeast to the water and sugar first, before you add any further ingredients. This is so you can check the yeasts validity, before proceeding. The mixture should start foaming on the top as proof of life. Also make sure the environment where the dough is left to rise, is at least 16 degrees or more and less than 35 degrees. Heat will kill yeast and cold temperatures will cause extremely slow rising. If you want your finished baked bread to have a crusty outside, then include a baking tin with a couple of cups of water in it, on the bottom of the oven. This will fill the oven with steam during cooking giving you a lovely crust. Absolutely essential when you are making a French baguette for instance.
