Today we will be making Indonesian honey ginger chicken. Indonesia is a source of many of my favourite foods, this one being the easiest and tastiest for the home cook. This is a very mild heat wise, but intensely flavourful dish and very quick and easy to prepare. I have been know to eat Indonesian Honey Ginger Chicken a couple of times in one week. So watch the video below and I'll show you how to make it. once you taste this, you'll be wanting to try other Indonesian dishes as well. Let's first have a look at the ingredients.
In your frying pan:
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp butter
Heat until just before smoking
Seasoning for chicken:
1 large chicken breast cut horizontally per person
1 tablespoon raw sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Combine and spread on both sides of chicken
Making the sauce you will need:
2 heaped tsp of melted honey
2 tbsp of Kecap Manis
1 tbsp of low sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp of raw sugar
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tsp minced ginger
2 heaped tsp of minced garlic
Serve with basmati rice, red capsicum chopped and cucumber matchsticks
