I always have sheets of puff pastry in my freezer for this very reason. The comfort of a beautifully made Steak and Onion pie cannot be underestimated. - 1 red onion
- 3 large cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp of fresh ginger
- 500 grams rump steak
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 carrot chopped
- 1 large portobello mushroom
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 2 beef oxo cubes
- 1 1/2 cups of water
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 large sheets puff pastry
- Salt( just a pinch) and pepper
