Taking the traditional sausage roll and adding more flavour to it, to make a super savoury sausage roll, is todays recipe. Also these sausage rolls can be made 100% vegetarian, with simple substitution. Cover them with gravy and serve with steamed broccoli and mash , or just serve with a dipping sauce. Ingredients for : Super Savoury Sausage Roll : Air Fryer Friendly
50 grams beef minced ( for vegetarian version 50 grams brown lentils )
150 grams sausage meat (for vegetarian version 150 grams red kidney beans)
1 onion finely chopped
1/4 leeks finely chopped
2 large Portobello mushrooms finely chopped
1 medium carrot grated coarsely
1 heaped tsp mince ginger
1 heaped tsp Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp pink salt
Good grind of black pepper
2 tsp Ras el Hanout
1 x 350 gram pre-rolled puff pastry
1 egg + 1 tbsp water beaten for egg wash
Air Fryer : Line your basket with baking paper and cook at 180 C
for 20 minutes. Then cook in increments of 5 minutes until golden.
