Chicken breast meat in these burritos, is one of the best ways to get high protein with low fat into your body. Ingredients for the : Tasty Mexican Burritos
1 packet of medium sized flour tortillas
250 grams diced chicken breast meat
1 packet Burrito seasoning
1/2 yellow capsicum diced finely
1/2 red capsicum diced finely
1 good handful of salad greens chopped
5 cm length of cucumber skinned and finely diced
2 medium tomatoes chopped
Slices of fresh mango (optional)
1 cup of grated cheddar cheese
1 jar of medium salsa
1 small pot of natural yogurt
Just a few tips when buying and making Mexican food
When buying pre made salsa never choose the hottest first. Go for the medium and then move up to hot if the heat is way too mild for you
When buying tortillas, look for the brands that boast that they do not split or crack. Always microwave your tortilla for 10 seconds on high prior to filling. This will make the tortilla more flexible
Mexican spice packets that do not contain a heat specification, mild, medium or hot, will tend to be on the hotter side. It may be better to trial the spice with a small quantity, before using it on a big crowd
Since a lot of Mexican foods will be imported make sure you keep an eagle eye on expiry dates for products, especially the tortillas and corn chip style tacos. If the latter is old then they also tend to taste old as well
